Dallas Summer Musicals: Elf

This 2015-2016 season of Dallas Summer Musicals, I am proud to be a member of the DSM Showbiz Crew. Through the program, I will be given tickets to a few shows on its opening night and I get to let you guys know how the performance goes!

For my husband's birthday yesterday, we had big, important plans for the evening: "Elf" began it's nearly month-long run at Music Hall at Fair Park! He had never been to a live musical performance before and I knew it had to be a special show to break him into the world of theatre! Because he is an Elf (the movie) quoter...I truly believe he knows every single line...I knew this would be the perfect first musical experience for him. It was! (nailed it).

The show sticks to the basics of the movie, with a lot more singing and dancing (of course). Santa shells out some major hilarity before and after each act (even talking about our dear Dallas Cowboys, which was answered with major applause after the recent win!) My favorite part of most productions are the sets...and these are amazing. Everything changes quite a bit from scene to scene (like, North Pole to New York), so I'm always shocked when it goes so well (I remember being backstage in small-scale productions, so I know what it takes for all the props and backdrops to be where they're supposed to be! It's work!)

This was such a great experience to be a part of. Thespians, or not, this play will definitely get your whole family in the spirit of Christmas! Get your tickets for one of the performances, now through Dec. 20th at Music Hall at Fair Park. Check out the DSM website for more details
