A Friendship Picnic

A lot of times, life gets in the way of meeting up with old friends and sometimes it just takes a little bit of planning and scheduling to get together and reconnect. In high school, a group of us girls were lovingly called "The Fab Five." Now, five has turned into 9 with the addition of some super cute kiddos. All nine of us got together for a picnic in the park this weekend at the Goodman-LeGrand House and Museum in Tyler, TX and it couldn't have been a more perfect day.

We had such a great time catching up, passing around a sweet baby, chasing after the fastest toddler in the world, wiping away a few tears, giving lots of hugs and kisses, blowing hundreds of bubbles and taking lot of cute pictures.

You have to have some great food for a picnic, right? Usually homemade? Yeah, right! It was my busiest work week of the year before we met up, so I settled for a completely store-bought spread...which turned out to be totally delicious and time-saving!

Here's what we enjoyed - Large sub sandwiches from the WalMart deli (cut into sixths and re-wrapped), Me & The Bees Lemonade (newly name, previously BeeSweet) from Whole Foods (watch her sweet story, so cute), small water bottles, Angie's Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn (those bag colors are irresistible...so is the popcorn) and fruit trays from Whole Foods.

Seeing some of my friends as mothers is such a surreal, but awesome experience. Weren't we just kids ourselves? We'll have to get together a lot more often to make sure I get to watch these cute kiddos grow up!
