Hello friends. I'm Savannah, a millennial maker with a passion for creating, celebrating, storytelling and breakfast-ing.

An undeniable East Texas accent still spills out of my mouth, no matter how long I’ve lived in the city. If you see me out and about, you’ll probably first notice my vibrant mess of faux red hair and then, my signature ensemble of black on black leggings and sweatshirts. Despite the past-tense of my online name, I smile quite often. I also cry a lot. Sad, happy, upset or excited, the tears never stop. I am basically on a never-ending emotional roller coaster.

Teachers are my lifelong superheroes and that’s why I spend most of my time working as a digital storyteller for my local public school system. Support public schools. Support public school teachers. Give. Cheerleader. Volunteer. Vote for political candidates who will fully-fund public schools. Sweet little lives depend on it every day.

I'm so grateful to have a career that supports teachers, especially since I married a teacher/coach more than five years ago.

Coach spends much of his days encouraging athletes and students to reach their full potential. Any free time he gets (and we’re not tag-teaming grading papers) he's spiking volleyballs on the sand courts with his friends I, on the other hand, am a total homebody who’s content organizing my pin boards for the umpteenth time while marathoning Netflix originals and reading my favorite blogs for DIY inspiration. That, and thriving off whatever news story, meme or celebrity drama that the zeitgeist cares about at the moment.

Our main unifying commonality may just be our delight for breakfast foods. We got engaged over IHOP pancakesmarried with Whataburger biscuits and could basically have breakfast for dinner every day of the week!

Welcome to my story!
(and my overuse of exclamation marks)

This blog began in 2011 as a collection of essays for a college class. It morphed into a travel and wedding-planning diary in 2012 and landed as a lifestyle blog somewhere after that.

I enjoy writing about fun things to do in Dallas, decorating our first home, simple DIY projects, pop culture obsessions and recipes to fulfill our love for breakfast.

“'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
