I'm a proud twenty-something millennial with a passion for creativity, an undeniable deep East Texas southern accent, daydreams of palm trees by the ocean and fifty shades of faux red hair.
I work full time in school communications as a digital storyteller of the amazing moments happening in our local public school district. No matter what our governments say about our public school systems, they are wonderful places of learning, joy and hope for so many kids who may not have those experiences otherwise. I see it every day.
Public schools need our support. Financial support. Volunteer support. Motivational support. Share the good news of your public schools and support local teachers who dedicate their lives to love and care for students.
I'm so thankful to have a career that supports teachers, especially since I'm married to one myself.
Coach spends much of his days encouraging athletes and students to reach their full potential. Any free time he gets he's spiking volleyballs with his friends or playing the latest video game(s). *wifey eye roll* I am a total homebody content creating new DIY projects, editing photographs, marathoning Netflix originals or reading my favorite inspiration blogs. He and I are pretty opposite, but I sure do love living life with him! Our favorite commonality may just be our delight for breakfast foods. We got engaged over IHOP pancakes, married with Whataburger biscuits and could basically have breakfast for dinner every day of the week.
This blog began in 2011 as a collection of essays for a college class. It wasn't very pretty back then!
It morphed into a travel and wedding-planning diary in 2012 and landed as a lifestyle blog somewhere after that.
I enjoy writing about fun things to do in Dallas, decorating our home (on the cheap), simple DIY projects, pop culture obsessions and recipes to fulfill our love for breakfast. Thanks for joining me here!
“'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
