Remember that amazing Lumberjack and Jill shower I helped host a couple of months ago? Well, Nathan & Kat's wedding day finally arrived this past weekend...a day we had all been anticipating for so long. They've been engaged for over a year and it was so amazing to see the final product of all the planning and hard work. So many beautiful details were created by Kat and her mom; from the ceremony backdrop to the handmade recipe book favors. They really thought of absolutely everything.
Kat has been a friend of mine since I was a middle-schooler with uncontrollably frizzy hair and pale white legs. I remember learning the ways of hair gel and tanning-lotion from Kat while on a mission trip to Kansas. That's right, people: spreading the word of Jesus by day, learning how to look like a lady at night. Did I mention she was our alarm clock that entire week? Sunday School songs were sung as loud as she possibly could each morning. "Riiiii-iiiise and shiii-iine and give God the GLORY GLORY."
Fortunately for me, I don't remember a time in my life without Nathan in it. I believe our parent's met when I was 2 years old and he's been my big brother ever since. I could always depend on him to be there for me or send a sweet message of support. No matter the different places life has taken us, I know when I see Nathan I'm getting the best bear hug anyone could ever get.
Being so close to both the bride and groom, did you guys think I could have shown up to their wedding without a camera (or two) in hand? Of course not. I knew I wanted to share their big day as soon as I could.
Thunderstorms were on the forecast all afternoon, but (after many many many prayers) it ended up being the most beautiful evening for these two best friends. I'm so happy to have been able to be a part of their big day.
