Mini Vacay | Waco, TX

Mini Vacay | Waco, TX

My sister and I are hoping to take a lot of mini vacations throughout the summer, utilizing the fun places that we can both quickly road trip too. Recently, we spent just a single day in Waco, Texas. Here's what we did:

I don't think you could go to Waco without checking out Magnolia Market at the Silos. "Fixer Upper" is always a good go-to for us when we're looking to enjoy a lazy tv day on the weekends. We can relate to Joanna and her eye rolls because we definitely married our own Chips! None of us had never been to the silos before, so we were excited to stop by. I think the men of ours were dreading it, but they ended up probably having more fun than all of us!

We weren't really interested in shopping, but we did browse around inside the market for a bit. There's so many cute home decor items to look through and the inside of the market itself is really beautiful. I'm not a huge fan of the farmhouse look for myself, but I do think all of it is so pretty if that's you.

MAGNOLIA MARKET AT THE SILOS

  • Shop the home decor and souvenir items.
  • Grab some lunch at the food trucks.
  • Get a sweet treat at the bakery.
  • Play on the lawn (football, cornhole, frisbee, swing).
  • Relax in the sun or the shade in comfy chairs.
  • Walk through the garden.

We happened upon two pretty exciting moments while we were walking the grounds. We passed by the #MilestoMagnolia sign just as a man knelt to propose. I actually caught most of it on video, so if you know this couple, drop me a comment. I'd love to send them the file! We also saw Jessa Duggar Seewald and her family. My sister absolutely loves her (and we were both so obsessed with her blush wedding dress). Thanks for taking a picture for us, Jessa!

After we enjoyed some fun and games (and some delicious Steel City Pops), we loaded back into our cars and headed north of Waco for BSR Cable Park.

There's actually a lot of activities to do at the park, but we had one goal and one only: relaxing on the lazy river. Check. Mate. It was so nice to just hop in, lounge around on floats, snack and chat on the lazy river. We timed it as about a 45-minute float to make it around the entire river. It was so relaxing and fun. I need to live closer so I could do that every day!

BSR CABLE PARK

  • Book a cabin in the park.
  • Float the Lazy River (rent a floating cooler for your food and drinks).
  • Slide down the Royal Flush.
  • Give Wakeboarding a try.
  • Grab a meal at the Bar & Grill.

I'd love to go back and stay a night in Waco because I know there's plenty more to see and do. Luckily, it's not too far away and we'll definitely be back.
