Lake House Tour

Lake House Tour

My sister and brother-in-law have been busy over the last six months completing their first home together. Of course, I shared all the details last summer when they spent time flipping a rent house. This time, all the changes were for a home of their own.

It’s a beautifully open and bright three bedroom, two bath near the lake in my hometown. I’m not even going to lie, this big sister is totally jealous! But, I like to think my style helped influence the overall look, so I’m okay with that. Plus, I plan on having as much an identical twin house to this one as I can get one day!

LIVING ROOM

The big, open living room is one of my favorite things about their home. Beautiful white light comes in from all directions, so it's definitely the perfect spot for photos.

KITCHEN + DINING

Right behind the living room is the equally bright and beautiful kitchen. It has plenty of room for entertaining and since it's just an extension to the living room, the tv can be seen while cooking...which is the dream, people!

GUEST ROOM

While we call this the guest room (and it is where I stay when I come over), this is most certainly the cat's room. Every time I've been over, you can find Chloe and Clyde curled up at the foot of the bed, as if they knew they were surrounded by cat decor.

MUD ROOM + LAUNDRY

The mud room is a large room, perfect for storage and out-the-door items like keys, umbrellas and bags. It's probably bigger than any of my future bedrooms will be! Right next door is the living area with laundry decorations inspired by A Beautiful Mess.

MAN CAVE

My brother-in-law is a bit of a football junkie and Dallas Cowboys fan. They were excited to find that the Man Cave was already painted navy when they bought the house. So, they've added in a few Cowboys-themed items and it's the perfect place to watch the big games.

BABE CAVE

Next door, there's a pretty little guest room we like to call the Babe Cave. My sister's office supplies and desk live in here, ready for Pinterest and inspiration searching. Plus, there's another closet in here for more storage (which is every girls dream, right?)

MASTER BEDROOM

Like most rooms, this one has perfect lighting streaming in from outside. The simple wooden, gray and gold tones have a minimal vibe that brings lots of simplicity and freshness. I love it.

BEFORE + AFTER

Not only did the inside make some big changes, but the outdoors did as well. They actually used the same paint color as the flipped rent house from last year - Sherwin-Williams Tynewood.

It's been so much fun to create some artwork and help out with a few furniture choices with them. I love their place and the changes they've made to it.

When I grow up someday, I want to live somewhere just like it!
